ExCAL offer a comprehensive site investigation service. Recent site investigations have been undertaken for:
Site investigations can be carried out via trial pits or boreholes to enable the collection of soil and groundwater samples to identify the level of contamination. A number of different borehole drilling techniques can be used including cable percussive (shell and auger), rotary auger, rotary percussive and window sampling. |

To ensure all our site investigations are carried out to the highest standards the protocols and procedures outlined in the latest British standards are strictly followed by our consultants.
On-site testing (chemical and physical) can be carried out on water samples for many determinants and parameters over a range of concentrations. Chemical analysis for key critical organic contaminants can also be undertaken on-site using enzyme techniques (Ensys kits) on both water and soil samples for:
- Polychlorinatedbiphenyls(PCBs)
- Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)
- Total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPHs)
- Polychlorinated phenols (PCPs)
